Frequently Asked Questions
I'm not sure about coming to therapy, will it help me?
I understand that uncertaintly as no one knows what it will be like until they start. An important part of therapy is the relationship between you and the therapist, so the first meeting is important to see how you fit together. At times it might feel that things are not changing but like anything therapy needs commitment to the work altering how we see or behave takes time.
How long is an appointment?
In counselling an appointment is usually called a session and it lasts for 50 minutes.
What happens in the first appointment?
The first session is different as it is getting to know one another session. As the therapist I will ask you about yourself and what you are looking for from therapy and it also gives you chance to have an idea of me and how I work. We can then both decide whether or not take it to the next stage of an ongoing therapeutic relationship.
How much does it cost?
At this current moment in time I am offering my counselling at £45 a session.
If I need to cancel do I still have to pay?
You won't need to pay for session so long as you give me 48 hours notice, otherwise you will have to pay. Obviously I will take an sensible view in exceptional circumstances.
How long do I have to commit for?
That's down to you and something we can discuss at our first meeting.
Where do you hold your appointments?
My counselling is on offer by telephone or on line via Zoom.
