Frequently Asked QuestionsI'm not sure about coming to therapy, will it help me?I understand that uncertaintly as no one knows what it will be like until they start. Whether it will help you or not depends on you, therapy is a two-way process, so whilst the therapist is there in the sessions, the only person who can make the changes in your life will be you and that can be hard. How long is an appointment? In counselling an appointment is usually called a session and it lasts for 50 minutes. What happens in the first appointment? The first session is different as it is getting to know one another session. As the therapist I will ask you about yourself and what you are looking for from therapy and it also gives you chance to have an idea of me and how I work. We can then both decide whether or not take it to the next stage of an ongoing therapeutic relationship. The cost of the first appointment is £35. How much does it cost? I charge £35 for the first appointment and then £40 a session for individuals and £50 for couples. I have a limited number of spaces for low cost clients. If I need to cancel do I still have to pay? You won't need to pay for session so long as you give me 48 hours notice, otherwise you will have to pay. Obviously I will take an sensible view in exceptional circumstances. How long do I have to commit for? That's down to you and something we can discuss at our first meeting. Where do you hold your appointments? I see clients at CCPE near Paddington/Warwick Avenue or N5 between Highbury & Islington/Holloway Road tube stations and in Tottenham N17, near Seven Sisters and Bruce Grove stations. | |
